Meet Chenitha

Hi, I’m Chenitha, and I welcome you as you have taken the first steps to acknowledging how important your mental health is. Have you been feeling anxious more often, trouble sleeping, withdrawing from loved ones, allowing fear to overshadow facts, or perhaps you’re afraid to take steps toward change? You don’t need many reasons to start therapy, and you definitely don’t have to figure it out on your own.

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor who has dedicated much of my career to helping people navigate life’s challenges, and I’m very passionate about helping individuals grow within themselves. In doing this, I’ve had the opportunity to work with people from all different backgrounds. This has helped me understand the importance of providing a culturally sensitive and supportive space for you to be authentic.

My goal as your therapist is to allow you to tell your story while navigating alongside you, with tools from evidence-based practices to help you experience joy, create happiness, and release built up trauma that has allowed you to escape from parts of your reality. I invite you to a judgement free zone, where I’m here to guide you toward achieving your short and long term goals.

I enjoy working with both adults and teenagers, as well as older adults who may think that life has passed them by, or they’re not satisfied about how things have turned out. There’s a list of things we try to solve on our own but don’t have to. Issues like, anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, and abuse can all sound scary, but speaking with a therapist is the best thing you can do to embrace new perspectives and take positive steps toward change.

If you are considering making life changes, I invite you to reach out to start therapy with me at Dr Allison and Associates. I would love to hear from you!
